NurseGrown Organics is proud to be Vermont’s first Clean Green Certified hemp farm. We are fully dedicated to cultivating clean, sun grown cannabis that utilizes only sustainable and responsible farming practices with an emphasis on a healthy living soil.
Our dedication and passion for clean, organic cannabis products, while providing an educational and supportive network for consumers, was the motivation behind starting NurseGrown Organics.
Together, Jessilyn Dolan and Matt Leonetti bring decades of experience and knowledge to their organically grown, handcrafted and processed “best of the best” Vermont hemp and CBD products.
Jessilyn Dolan, RN, CMT, CLD (she/her) is a cannabis activist, advocate and patient. As a patient herself, Jessilyn understands the life-changing impact cannabis and alternative medicine can have. From early childhood continuing into adulthood, Jessilyn has had over three dozen surgeries, and is beyond grateful for the support of plant medicine along the way. She is a cultivating caregiver for another nurse, and has spent decades cultivating and crafting medicinal herbs. Her long healing journey contributes to her passion for helping others find and create their own path to optimal health.
Jessilyn serves on the Board of Directors for the American Cannabis Nurses Association (ACNA). Jessilyn is President of the American Nurses Association-Vermont (ANA-VT), and chairs the ANA-VT Government Affairs Committee. Jessilyn is founder of the Vermont Cannabis Nurses Association (VTCNA). Working collaboratively ANA-VT and VTCNA, launched an education program in 2021 to educate all Vermont medical professionals about medicinal cannabis.
Before becoming a nurse, Jessilyn owned and operated her own wellness and yoga center. Jessilyn is a Certified Massage Therapist, experienced herbalist, intuitive healer, and energy worker. Jessilyn taught yoga, CPR, Infant Massage and HypnoBirthing and was a professor in the Community College of Vermont’s massage therapy program, specializing in craniosacral therapy, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Reiki and Reflexology.
Jessilyn has decades of experience as both a birth worker and labor and delivery nurse. Jessilyn co-founded the University of Vermont Medical Center’s Labor Doula Program and has trained hundreds of doulas over the years. She was a Faculty Labor Doula Instructor for the last decade for CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Association), and a national speaker and advocate for vulnerable families. She is on CAPPA’s Scholarship Committee, and serves on the Vermont Lactation Association Conference Committee. She formerly managed a residential treatment facility for pregnant and parenting families for substance use recovery, opioid medication assisted treatment, and newborn withdrawal. Jessilyn is a relentless advocate for vulnerable families and continues to work as a labor doula and childbirth educator.
Jessilyn works as a research nurse at the University of Vermont’s College of Medicine, Center on Behavior and Health in clinical research, specializing in opioid use, substance use and mental health disorders. She completed the University of Vermont’s Cannabis Science and Medicine Professional Certificate program and Radicle Health's Clinical Education program. Her soon-to-be-published article “Breast/Chestfeeding and Marijuana Use: Recommendations from the Field Post Marijuana Legalization In Vermont” is a five year follow-up study, one year post-legalization, to “Surveying Lactation Professionals Regarding Marijuana Use and Breastfeeding.”
Jessilyn is also the Wellness Director for CannaMommy's virtual clinic.
Jessilyn is honored to share her combined allopathic and holistic wisdom and the spirit of this sacred plant with you, and offers both individual cannabis nurse consultations as well as group educational workshops.
Matt Leonetti (he/him) is the farm manager for NurseGrown Organics, bringing decades of cannabis cultivation experience and knowledge to the farm with his diversified horticultural background.
Matt has a degree from the University of Vermont in Plant and Soil Science, with an emphasis on organic production. Having managed several organic diversified vegetable CSA farms, Matt has a deep understanding of soil building, nutrient management, crop rotations, and pest and disease management.
Matt has conducted organic compost based potting media research in conjunction with the Intervale Foundation, is currently the Tree Warden for the Town of Richmond and has been a Vermont Certified Horticulturist for 14 years.
Matt’s appreciation for organic agriculture has inspired him to become a farm compliance inspector for Clean Green, promoting clean, environmentally sound agricultural practices for cannabis and hemp production. His deep understanding of compliance and certification standards is a perfect fit to elevate NurseGrown Organics to the highest standards for clean cannabis and environmental stewardship.
Matt's background also includes a conviction for cultivating cannabis during the height of the War on Drugs. While he avoided a lengthy prison sentence, the burden of the conviction has, heretofore, been nothing but an immense challenge - even when applying for a hemp license. Ironically, times have changed, and he's now considered a social equity applicant and prioritized for cannabis licensure in Vermont.
